Frances Reid, one of the original cast members of "Days of Our Lives", has portrayed the matriarch Alice Horton since November 1965. 

Also an accomplished stage actress, Reid performed on Broadway in "Hamlet", "Cyrano de Bergerac" and "Twelfth Night". She starred with Robert Young in the television movie "Mercy or Murder?" 

Reid is a native of Wichita Falls, Kansas. She is a graduate of the Pasadena Playhouse. Her birthday is December 9.
